Suraiya Nanji has dedicated her creative career to elevated aesthetics, great design, and feeling cozy since 2012.

Born in Vancouver B.C., Suraiya Nanji started her career as a retail and event designer based in Los Angeles. With a degree in Visual Communications from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Suraiya has since designed and opened retail locations around the world for esteemed brands like Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Forever 21, and Unique LA.

Despite the California sun winning her over for the better part of a decade, Suraiya couldn’t quite shake the urge to jump off the corporate ladder and take the leap into creating something of her own. However, candles weren’t a calculated choice; as a favourite family pastime, Suraiya has been trimming wicks since the age of five.

Homecoming Candles started as a hobby, a passion project, and an opportunity to return to a simpler, more meaningful way of life. That return eventually brought her back home to Vancouver where Homecoming has since expanded into a sought-after Canadian brand, known for hand made, hand poured and hand packaged candles and home accessories with a clean aesthetic designed to fit into any home.
