Why support local farmer’s markets:
BC is a mecca for farmer’s markets, especially during the Spring and Summer months.
Local farmer’s markets help to provide the freshest produce, directly from local producers, whilst supporting small farm production. They also allow consumers to reconnect with people who personally produce the food they eat and those who take pride in their produce.
Farmer’s markets always carry seasonal produce, making the food bought at them, the freshest and most delicious out there. Succulent strawberries and crunchy asparagus are able to ripen fully without being shipped long-distance or sat in containers for days.
