Chef Roger Planiden

Chef Planiden is an authentically local Chef to British Columbia. Having grown up on a small farm in the Slocan Valley in the West Kootenays Chef Planiden learned from an early age in life the lessons of “where our food comes from”. Many endless summers spent on the farm caring for dairy cows, and growing vegetables formed the foundation and the beliefs surrounding his passion for food. Following in the footsteps of his mother, making cheese and churning fresh butter were skills learned from a young age.

Chef Planiden has travelled all over Canada working with some of countries best chefs from B.C to Ontario in the finest luxury class hotels this nation has to offer. Highlights include cooking for Prince Charles on his Royal visit to Winnipeg in 1995, and participating in cooking for the Common Wealth Conference in 1987, in Kelowna B.C.   His knowledge of food and wine, with his time with Great Estates of the Okanagan, gave him the ability to create exquisite wine maker dinners with the perfect pairing.  As an owner and Executive Chef of Culinary Adventure, Chef Planiden is able to provide unforgettable experiences in unique locations to his guests.  Chef Planiden looks forward to sharing his knowledge and passion for French Cuisine at Cook Culture.
