Spanish Tapas and Paella Cooking Class

Sharing food with friends and family is a huge part of Spanish culture, so it’s no wonder their cuisine is dominated by tapas (small plates for sharing) and family-sized one-pot wonders like a classic Paella. Our Spanish Cooking Class celebrates local ingredients, and the bounty of the sea and land: in this Spanish cooking class you’ll taste plenty of garlic, smoked paprika, flavourful meats and seafood, zesty tomatoes, and bright herbs. When it comes to authentic Spanish tapas, the plates may be small, but the flavours are always big! You’ll also learn how to make Paella, the famous rice dish from Spain’s eastern coast. You’ll have a lot of fun in this Spanish Cooking Class so make sure you bring your favourite bottle of Spanish wine so you can cheers to your cena Española!

Our hands on cooking classes are set in a large communal teaching kitchen, which is similar to a home kitchen, just bigger! You will learn shoulder to shoulder from the instructor along with the other guests. After you learn to make the meal, everyone will sit together and enjoy the meal family style. In all of our classes, other than Knife Skills, you are welcome to bring your own beverages.

I received this class as a birthday gift and it was such a great evening! Chef Shane Lobsinger was so engaging as an instructor. His knowledge is vast, yet he makes it accessible and fun for us home cooks. Anna and her crew of volunteers made the evening seamless. I look forward to wowing dinner guests with the recipes we learned. And I’ll definitely be signing up for more classes.
