North Vancouver (Lonsdale) Cooking School
Underground Parkade (free): To park in the BlueShore visitor lot, you will access the parkade one of two ways:
- from 12th St between Lonsdale Ave and St Georges Ave – go North into the alley and drive straight into the underground lot
- from St Georges Ave between 12th St and 13th St – go West into the alley and turn right at the end into the underground lot.
Once in the lot, you may park in any of the BlueShore visitor stalls. Please note: at the end of the class, you will only be able to access the parkade with the assistance of a Cook Culture employee. This means that there may be some delays as a group is organized to leave.
Street Parking: There is ample free street parking on Lonsdale and the surrounding streets. There are some parking restrictions in effect until 6pm. Please adhere to posted street signage.

Parking Lots (pay): There are two city parking lots close by:
- Johnson Street Parkade – 750 Johnson Street
- View Street Parkade – 743 View Street

Street Parking: There is pay street parking around, or after 6pm you can park on the Blanshard street in front of the store. Please adhere to posted street signage.
We understand that life throws curve balls every once in awhile and plans need to change. Because of this our cancellation policy is:
- Cancellation 48 hours or more: exchange or full refund to original payment method
- Less than 48 hours: No refunds or exchanges
If you need to cancel or change your booking please do so by replying to your class confirmation or reminder email. Your request will be time stamped to the time when your email was sent, not the time we read the email.
If you fail to show up to a class, no credit is offered and there are no make up classes.
You are always welcome to send a friend or family member in your place if you are unable to attend.
There are no exceptions to our policy due to weather, illness, traffic etc.
It is the guest’s responsibility to be aware of the date and time of a class, a courtesy and confirmation email will be sent to remind guests of an upcoming class; but, we are not responsible if you do not receive the email or the class time is inaccurate, due to timezone settings.
Consider our cooking classes like cooking “events”. If you failed to show up to a event, such as a concert you cannot get a credit back from the concert venue, no matter the reason. Please think of our classes the same way!
For the 3-part Cooking Bootcamps: We highly recommend that you determine your availability prior to registering. It is a consecutive series so that you can build upon the previous week and make a leap in your cooking skills. Our 48 hour cancellation policy is in effect for Day 1 of the Bootcamp, once the series begins we cannot offer a refund or credit towards another class.
Occasionally it is necessary for us to cancel a class. We will do everything we can to give you as much notice as possible. When this occurs, we will re-book you into another class of your choice.
We serve still or sparkling water at classes. If you would like to drink anything else, please feel free to bring it along. We are happy to provide glasses for you.
Yes, you should expect to leave with a full belly. At most classes we offer a small snack at the beginning, to sustain you while the meal is being made.
Please take note, under each class posting, which of our three class styles you should expect:
Hands-on with some demonstration, Demonstration with some hands-on, or Demonstration. We are a communal-style cooking school. Typically, you can expect to roll up your sleeves, gather around the island, and cook with your classmates.
We offer kid’s (7-10 year old) & teen’s (11-14 year old) cooking classes, at our Lonsdale and Howe locations. Children and teens are welcome to attend any class, with an adult, as long as they will benefit from an adult-oriented class.

We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, but our facilities come in contact with all types of foods. We cannot guarantee there will be no cross-contamination. Please review the dietary flags for each class. You will also see a listing of those dietary flags that we cannot accommodate, per class. Please detail any dietary concerns, when you are placing your order.

Yes! You are welcome to attend any class of you choosing; but, certain key ingredients cannot be eliminated from specific dishes. If you cannot eat a certain dish, we will happily pack it up for you to take home for friends or family. Please make note of this upon registration.

Many of our basic and popular classes are offered monthly; other classes are offered every couple of months. Register early to avoid disappointment.

Yes! The kitchen host is happy to any questions regarding products, or help you with any purchases you would like to make.
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Within that timeframe, the chef will have shopped and prepared for you to attend the class. If you are ill within 48 hours of class, please send a friend or family member in your place.

Most of our classes start at 6pm, please plan your route taking rush hour traffic into consideration. If you are running late, please knock on the front door when you arrive, so that we can let you in.

We have a 48 hour cut-off for online registration. The chef then begins planning, shopping, and preparing. If you are interested in attending a class within 48 hours, please call the store directly and we will determine if we can accommodate you on a case-by-case basis. To avoid disappointment, please register well ahead of the 48 hour cut-off.

Occasionally, we need to cancel a class due to lack of registration or an unforeseen circumstance. We will do our best to give you as much notice as possible, a minimum of 48 hours before the start of class. In this case, we will move you to another class of your choosing.
We suggest purchasing a gift card for the value of a class. That way the recipient can choose a class and date that suits them. If you purchase a specific class for the recipient, the 48 hour cancellation policy and all other terms and conditions apply.
