Chef Mara Jernigan is a local legend having founded Feast of Fields, Slow Food Vancouver Island and Western Canada’s first Farm to Table Cooking School. A highly experienced instructor, Mara loves to teach and inspire the use of local seasonal ingredients, Italian regional cuisine and strong basic techniques to make everyone a better cook. Her classes are always peppered with stories of her travels, understanding of food and a special passion for Italy, where she has led culinary tours for the last 20 years.
